Update: Monday, June 18, 2007

Well, Brian and I are at his uncle's home in Nashville paying a much needed visit. Grand Recital was a success and now I can relax as well. Brian was cleared for his elbow surgery this past Thursday and we got the phone call today informing us that his surgery will be on July 17th, but she did not have the time in front of her. So, more than likely, Brian will be in the hospital for my birthday. However, there's a good chance he'll get to go home that day if all goes well - talk about a great birthday present. That will also be the first week I start back for the summer session at work, making things a little tricky. On the flip side, Dr. Gupta seems extremely confident and qualified so we are putting our trust in him.
Until the 17th, life is full of doctor's appointments and therapy. We will be "house-sitting" for a couple of weeks, so that will be a huge help in saving on gas money. I am trying to get Brian down to Florida for a few days before his surgery so we can visit some of my family and go salt-water fishing on my grandparents' boat.
In the meantime, Brian's spirits are high. He is still walking with a cane, but his leg, hand, and shoulder are strengthening steadily. Brian has a harder time seeing the progress. His shoulder is staying out of socket less and less. I have told multiple health care professionals that I see very little difference mentally. They insist that he has some attention and memory deficits, which are normal, but are improving and will continue to improve over the next several months. I have noticed that he is more patient...a BEAUTIFUL plus. :) He is giving his all in therapy and I am continuously proud of him. He is so fortunate and is beginning to appreciate all the blessings God has given him.

Thank you all for your continuing prayers, contributions and love. We are eternally grateful.
Brian and Jana

So glad to hear that BOTH of you are doing well. I am always amazed at the progress he seems to make. Good luck on the fishing trip and the surgery. We will pray for him.
