Brian's Update: 4:15pm Thursday

Folks,
Here's some of the work that Brian accomplished today. He took 120 steps and had both legs stretched as well as his right elbow. He did three new things today too. Each are pretty remarkable. He walked up stairs 4 steps and back down 4 steps. He also started doing knee bends! One exercise has him on his knees on a pad and stretching with his left hand, all the way across his chest to his right. In his hand is a bean bag. He has to place it, not throw it, into a bucket that Dawn holds close to her. This exercise requires Brian to use a whole new group of muscles.
He was flat pooped after all that. But therapy wasn't over yet. His speech therapy required him to listen to a story and then answer questions about it. It answered the questions very well.
His appetite is also returning. He ate all the breakfast they brought him and had Jana go get him some biscuits and gravy from the cafeteria and ate all that too!
I think he will sleep very well tonight. His bladder continues to cooperate so that is one less issue for Brian to have to deal with. We are especially happy about that.
Please continue to pray for Brian's right elbow. We need to see still more extension on it. He may have to have surgery at some later date to remove some bone matter.

Blessings on each of you,
Bob

Well with it being the Easter Season I know God will continue to show us his miracles. Your appetite makes me smile so much, that's our Brian! Shawn is finally on his way home. I expect he will call sometime tomorrow to ask if he can visit. He's got some presents! We miss you Brian and keep praying for you too!

The smile of your face doesn't look like a man who was struggling so much! You look awesome. Keep up all the hard work! It's so good to see you doing this good. You are always in my prayers. God bless you, Jessica Hensley Day
